On Tuesday 26 March at 20.45 hrs Maltawill be playing Italyin what is definitely the big match for us in our Group B 2014 World Cup Brazilqualifiers. On the day the Ta’ Qali National Stadium will be a bee-hive of activity as the match should be a sell-out.    The Malta Football Association is conscious of the big spectator demand for this match as well as that of a wide cross-section of the media who will be covering the fixture. All this entails meticulous organisation which pre-supposes order and security arrangements. Spectators in the West Stand will be allocated numbered tickets apart from the complimentary tickets in the central restricted area of the West Stand, while those with tickets in the Millennium, North and South Stands will take their seats on a first-come-first-served basis. As far as the media personnel are concerned proper logistical organisation in access zones and within set time-frames is a pre-requisite. Accredited members of the written press, those of radio and TV stations as well as photographers and camera persons will have different pass cards and bib colours for specific areas on the pitch and in and around the stadium. All this should make for smooth discharging of their duties in all zones. In this regard the principal co-ordinator of these logistical details, MFA CEO, Bjorn Vassallo, gave very useful information on power point to the association’s staff members, spelling out their different roles in order to ensure that there will be proper arrangements based on international practice before and after the match.
