European club competitions are back this week, with two teams of officials assigned to control matches in the UEFA Youth League.

On Tuesday at 2pm in Trabzon (Turkey), FIFA badge referee Matthew Degabriele will officiate the UEFA Youth League encounter between Trabzonspor A.Ş. of Turkey and Danish side FC Midtjylland Youth.

Matthew will be assisted in the Turkish city by Jurgen Spiteri and Mitchell Scerri as his two Assistant Referees, whereas the Maltese trio will be joined by Turkish official Bülent Birincioğlu as fourth official.

Meanwhile, one other FIFA badge referee will be in action for international duties this week as Trustin Farrugia Cann is currently in Northern Italy tasked to officiate the UEFA Youth League match this coming Wednesday between AC Milan Youth (ITA) and FC Porto Youth (POR).

For this contest, Trustin will be assisted by Luke Portelli and Duncan Spencer both joining him as his two Assistant referees representing Malta, whereas UEFA has entrusted Italian Alessandro Prontera to aid the Maltese trio for this match as fourth official.

While expressing it’s delight for these appointments, the Malta FA would like to send it’s best wishes to all six local officials waving the Maltese flag beyond our shores at international level later this week.
