Malta is the latest country to host a UEFA programme in which trainers are being prepared to coach stadium stewards who are deployed at matches across the island.  The weeklong course ended today with an award ceremony that was held at the Centenary Hall in Ta’ Qali.

This innovative programme that is organised and sponsored by UEFA, aims to prepare trainers to deliver a course of training to stewards who are deployed at football matches across the country.

Through this training programme, the Association will lay the foundations for a competent stewarding workforce in Malta.  This will furthermore not only better the stadium experience but offer a safer one for all those that flock to follow their favourite football team.

20 persons took part in this five-day training course, amongst them the Football Operations Department within the Malta FA.  Besides participants hailing from the Malta FA, the course participants include a selection originating from the Malta Police and the Civil Protection Department.
