U*BET FA Trophy holders Hibernians defeated Valletta 3-2 in the second semi-final to set up a clash with Qormi in a repeat of last year's final.


The match came to life towards the end of the first half when Hibernians were awarded a penalty and Valletta had Jason Vandelannoite was sent off. Clayton Failla's effort was partially saved by Manuel Bartolo but the same player scored off the rebound. The Valletta goalkeeper was sent off immediately afterwards.

A few minutes later, Failla scored again to put Hibs 2-1 ahead.

In added time, Mario Muscat was sent off for a foul inside the area. Demba Toure converted from the penalty spot to reduce the gap. 

Edison Luis dos Santos made it 3-1 mid-way through the second half but Roderick Briffa narrowed the gap with a goal in stoppage time.
