MITCHELL SCERRI - ASSISTANT REFEREE IN UEFA UNDER 19 FINALS IN LITHUANIA

FIFA Assistant Referee Mitchell Scerri is currently participating as one of eight assistant referees in UEFA’s Under 19 Final Tournament in Lithuania.  In his first match on Saturday 20th, Mitchell Scerri assisted English Premiership FIFA Referee Michael Oliver in the opening Group B match between Serbia and Turkey (2-1)  On Tuesday 23rd Mitchell Scerri was Belarus’ FIFA Referee Alexey Kulbakov’s assistant in the Group A match between Lithuania and Spain (0-2). Tomorrow Mitchell Scerri will be assisting FIFA Referee Gediudinas Mazeika (Lithuania) in the Group B match, Turkey vs Georgia. In a Press Announcement, UEFA said that the international match officials at this prestigious Final Tournament are in daily contact at their base in Kaunas, with meetings and briefings organised by the Referees’ Committee as well as physical training regimes forming a significant part of their learning curve.
