There was also a strong football participation, with a number of players, coaches and administrators from women’s clubs together with their families and friends. In all there were over 125taking part in the walk, all dressed in pink, Club kit or National Team kit making their way from Ta’ Xbiex Marina to Hard Rock Café in the Bay Street Complex where they were welcomed by a healthy buffet lunch. During the activity, the Sales and Marketing Manager of Hard Rock Café Malta, Adolf Vella, thanked all present for their participation and announced that Malta’s Women’s National Team will be the firm’s official Pinktober Ambassadors and will work closely with Hard Rock Cafe to raise more awareness throughout this Pinktober campaign. The ABCF stated that they are once again honoured to work on breast cancer awareness in collaboration with Hard Rock Café Malta for the 4th consecutive Pinktober and went on to thank everyone who supported them during this Pinktober Walk for Life 2013, stating that it means a lot for them, “as only together we can make a difference.” The ABCF thanked all the participants and sponsors mainly the Women’s football National Team, Hard Rock Café Malta, Malta Medical Students, Amac Ltd, St. James Hospital and San Michel Water. On its part the MFA profusely thanked Hard Rock Café Maltafor organising the event, the clubs and players for providing such anactive support and Amac Ltd for sponsoring the sound system for the warm-up part of the event.
