Women’s Team to face Iceland in World Cup Qualifier

Malta’s Women’s team will face Iceland in a FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 Qualifer tomorrow at the Centenary StadiumDuring a pre-match Press conference held this morning Team Coach Pierre Brincat said that the team has to forget last Saturday’s match against Switzerland, and concentrate on the next match.  “We lost some players (inc Goalkeeper Janice Xuereb) in the above mentioned match but managed to recover Stefnaina Farrugia, whocouldn’t make it last Saturday” Brincat added. Coach Brincatsaid that this was the first time that we are playing in a double fixture and all the necessary recoveries has been done during the last 3 days. “Since the day we qualified to this round we alwaysknew that this was noeasy taskas most of the countries we are playing against are almost professionals” concluded Brincat.. Player Rebecca D'Agostinosaid that the  coaching staff prepared prepared the team,both tactically & mentally “All players know that Iceland is a strong side but weare all focused and determinedand we just hiope for a  good performance@ said D’Agostino.
