Disciplinary Commissioner Report update regarding Zabbar St Patrick vs Naxxar Lions

The Malta FA’s Disciplinary Commissioner on Tuesday issued a series of sanctions related to the BNF U17 League B Top Six match between Zabbar St Patrick FC and Naxxar Lions FC.

The report, dated 17th March 2026, provides an update on a number of sanctions from matches in recent matchdays, one being the match between Zabbar and Naxxar that took place on Sunday 15th March 2026 at Dingli Ground.

In the report on Tuesday, the Disciplinary Commissioner has issued a one-year suspension for Zabbar player Jaden Buckland. Mikhael Micallef and Jamie Azzopardi have also been handed fines, with the latter also being suspended for one match due to his sending off. These two sanctions are for instances that took place before the incident unfolded.

Additionally, Naxxar Lions player Hani Ezzedden Saih has been given a three-match suspension, with Jake Pace also handed a fine. Naxxar Lions Official Ettienne Vella has also been handed a fine.

The decisions are subject to appeal.

The Malta FA would like to reiterate that it strongly condemns any form of violence, altercation, or unsporting behaviour on or around the field of play. Such conduct goes against the fundamental values of football, including respect, discipline, and fair play, which the Association works continuously to promote across all levels of the game, particularly within youth football.
