In a short ceremony before the UEFA European Qualifier match between Malta and Northern Ireland, Stephania Farrugia was honoured with a 100 game cap by Malta FA General Secretary Dr. Angelo Chetcuti and Director of Women's Football Pierre Brincat. The presentation, held at the Centenary Stadium, celebrated Farrugia's remarkable milestone of 100 international appearances for the Maltese national team.

Farrugia's 100th game was played away against Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the match against Northern Ireland marking her first home game since reaching this significant achievement. She joins the ranks of an elite group of players, becoming only the second Maltese female footballer to reach this milestone, following in the footsteps of Dorianne Theuma.

Stephania Farrugia's journey with the national team began on February 23, 2007, in a friendly match against Switzerland. This debut match was particularly special as it was under the guidance of her coach, Pierre Brincat, who now plays a significant role in Maltese women's football.

Over her illustrious career, Farrugia has not only been a stalwart in defense but has also contributed offensively, scoring five goals for the national team. Her first international goal came during the Aphrodite Cup against Latvia on March 18, 2015.

The Malta FA and the entire football community wish Stephania Farrugia continued success and look forward to many more bright performances from this dedicated athlete. Her commitment and achievements serve as an inspiration for aspiring footballers across the islands.
