The draws for the 2023/24 UEFA EURO U17 & U19 Qualifying Rounds took place on December 8th in Nyon, Switzerland.

Toze Mendez’s U19 team, who were in Pot D, will take on Ukraine, Slovakia, and Kosovo in Group 7.  The 2023/24 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifying round draw has set the 13 autumn groups that will begin the road to the eight-team finals in Northern Ireland.

Malta will now host this UEFA mini tournament, with fixtures taking place on the 15th, 18th and 21st November 2023.  Kosovo and Ukraine cannot host a tournament for the time being, and Slovakia suggested dates that were not suitable for the other countries and thus the responsibility of hosting this mini tournament fell in the hands of the Maltese FA.

The top two teams in each group will join top seeds Portugal in the spring 2024 elite round along with the third-placed team with the best record against the top two in their section.

Ivan Woods’ U17s, were seeded in Pot D.  Malta was drawn in Group 8 with Spain, Slovakia and North Macedonia.

Malta will host the mini tournament that will take place on the 25th, 28th and 31st of October 2023.

There are 13 groups with four teams in each. In all, 52 nations will be involved in the qualifying round: the 54 entrants minus hosts Cyprus (who qualify direct for the final tournament) and top seeds Netherlands (who enter in the elite round).

The top two teams in each group will progress to the elite round along with the five third-placed teams with the best records against the top two in their section.
